The Stingray Allstars Fort Lauderdale is an approved Step Up For Students direct service provider. If your family receives an eligible Florida scholarship, those funds can go toward training at our gym instead of coming out of pocket.
What this means for your family
Step Up For Students administers most of Florida's K-12 scholarship programs on behalf of the state. Awards are funded into an education savings account, and families spend from that account through the scholarship platform. For services, that spending has to go to a provider Step Up For Students has vetted and listed as an approved direct service provider.
We are now one of those providers. Practically, that removes a barrier that has kept some Broward families out of the gym entirely: cheer and tumbling stop being an expense that has to compete with everything else in a household budget, and become something an existing education account may be able to fund. Our goal is to make our programs as accessible as possible so athletes can keep learning, build confidence, and thrive in the gym.
One thing stays the same. Scholarship funding is a payment method, not a separate program. Athletes train on the same floor, with the same coaches, on the same teams, and nobody in the gym knows how a family pays tuition.
What scholarship funds can go toward
Classes
From preschool movement and beginner tumbling through specialty technique classes. $17 per 55-minute class, monthly or by Class Pass.
Competitive teams
Applicable toward both full-season and half-season cheer programs, across our Novice, Prep, and Elite placements.
Rays Ready pre-team
Our bridge program between classes and a competitive team: $140 per month, twice weekly, 90 minutes a session.
Clinics & open training
Clinics are $45 for two hours; Open Stunt & Tumble is $20 for 90 minutes. Discrete, dated, easy to document.

How to use your funds, step by step

Log in to your Step Up For Students account and check that the award is accepted and showing an available balance. An approved award is not the same as money you can spend today.

Each scholarship program has its own guide, and it is the authority on whether a given class or team fee is an eligible expense. Rules differ by program and change between school years.

Tell us which program you are looking at and we will confirm current cost, session length, and what is included, so you have specific numbers to check against your guide.

Submit through Step Up For Students
Depending on your program, funds are either paid to an approved provider through the scholarship platform or reimbursed after you pay. Ask us for an itemized receipt either way.

Classes run through our iClassPro parent portal; team placement runs through an evaluation with our coaches. Scholarship funding is a payment method, not a separate program.

What can Step Up For Students funds be used for at your gym?
Families use scholarship funds toward our classes, which range from preschool movement and beginner tumbling to specialty technique classes, and toward our competitive teams, applicable to both full-season and half-season cheer programs. Which Step Up For Students scholarships can be used here?
Step Up For Students administers several programs, including FES-UA for students with unique abilities, PEP for families educating at home, and FTC and FES-EO for private school families. The programs built around family-directed education generally have the most flexible spending rules. Confirm your own eligibility in your scholarship account before enrolling.
Do you handle the scholarship paperwork?
No. Applications, eligibility decisions, funding, and reimbursement requests are all handled by Step Up For Students through your family scholarship account. What we provide is accurate pricing and itemized receipts or invoices for the programs your athlete enrolls in.

Are uniforms, competition fees, and travel covered?
Do not assume so. A competitive all-star season includes tuition plus a uniform package, choreography and music, competition fees, and family travel, and approval rules can treat instruction differently from equipment or event fees.
