Answers for Stingray Families

Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything parents ask us about evaluations, registration, billing, and gym life, all in one place. Can't find your answer? We're a call or email away.

How do 2026/2027 team evaluations work?+

Main evaluations for the 2026/2027 season have concluded, but current evaluation availability is maintained in our iClassPro parent portal. If no date is listed, call (954) 988-0488 to ask about a private evaluation. Coaches consider skill, technical execution, readiness, and team fit before placing an athlete in Novice, Prep, or Elite.

Do I need cheer experience to try out?+

No. Novice is our foundational placement, and evaluations exist to place every athlete on the right team for their current skills, not to screen out newcomers. Weekly tumbling classes are also a great way to build foundational skills before an evaluation.

What age can my athlete start?+

We welcome athletes into weekly tumbling classes at a range of ages, and team placement is based on skill level evaluated during tryouts rather than age alone. The best way to find the right starting point for your athlete is to contact us directly.

How does registration actually work?+

All registration, from evaluations to weekly classes to team enrollment, runs through our iClassPro parent portal. Create a portal account, browse what is open, and enroll directly online.

What is the difference between Novice, Prep, and Elite?+

Novice is the foundational placement with local-only events. Prep is the progressive placement with structured scoring and regional travel. Elite is the premier placement with the highest technical expectations, national bid events, and a full 12-month commitment. See our Programs page for the complete placement and age-division guide.

Can we try a class without committing to a team?+

Yes. Our weekly tumbling classes offer drop-in options, so families can build skills and get a feel for the gym at their own pace before committing to a competitive team.

How does billing and the financial commitment work?+

Billing is managed through the parent portal. Before your athlete starts on a team, families complete a Financial Commitment form outlining tuition and payment expectations for the season, available on our Forms page.

What forms do I need to complete before my athlete starts?+

Depending on your program, you will typically need the Assessment Form (or Assessment Package for new athletes), the Participant Agreement, and the Financial Commitment form. All required forms are available to download on our Forms page.

What should my athlete wear to class or evaluations?+

We'll make sure you have exactly what you need before your athlete's first day. Contact us at (954) 988-0488 or info@stingrayallstarsftlauderdale.com and we'll walk you through current attire guidance.

What if my athlete needs to miss a practice or event?+

Submit an Absence Form, available on our Forms page, to report a planned or unplanned absence. For questions about make-ups, reach out to the gym directly at (954) 988-0488.

How are teams formed each season?+

Teams are formed through our evaluation process, where athletes are placed by skill level. Our teams for the 2026/2027 season include Sprinkle, Droplets, Misty, Breeze, Weather Girls, Avalanche, Storm, Riptide, and Lady Twister.

Where are you located, and what are your hours?+

Stingray Allstars Fort Lauderdale is located at 1907 SW 43rd Terrace, Bay F, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. For current hours and directions, visit our Contact page or call (954) 988-0488.
