Cheer stunt classes
Stunt classes focus on one of the most important and technical parts of cheer: safely lifting, holding, and dismounting stunts as a group. Athletes learn proper technique for every position, from bases to backspots to flyers, in a structured setting. Our stunt classes at The Stingray Allstars Fort Lauderdale in Deerfield Beach are open to athletes across Broward County who want to sharpen this specific skill.
What is a cheer stunt class?
A stunt class is a skill-specific class dedicated entirely to stunting. Instead of splitting time across tumbling, jumps, and dance, the full session is spent on the technique, timing, and teamwork that make stunts work.
Because stunting is a group skill, these classes teach athletes how to communicate, share load, and move together, which is exactly what teams look for come evaluation time.
What stunt skills do you learn?
Coaches break stunting down by position and progression, starting with solid fundamentals before advancing to more complex builds and transitions.
- •Basing technique: grips, arm position, and driving through the legs
- •Backspotting for safety, support, and control
- •Flyer skills: body tension, balance, and pulling body positions
- •Loads, dismounts, and safe cradles
- •Timing, counts, and communication across the stunt group
Who should take a stunt class?
Stunt classes are valuable for athletes who want to strengthen a skill that carries a lot of weight in tryouts and on the competition floor. A strong baser, backspot, or flyer is always in demand on a team.
They suit current all-star and school cheerleaders adding polish, as well as newer athletes who want to build stunt confidence in a focused setting. Athletes from any Fort Lauderdale or Broward County program are welcome.
Is stunting safe to learn in a class?
Stunting is taught with safety as the priority. Coaches use proper progressions, spotting, and technique so athletes only advance to harder skills once the foundation is solid.
Learning stunts in a structured class with trained coaches is far safer than attempting them on your own, and it builds habits that protect athletes throughout their cheer careers.
